AFops 2026 Opens In Kochi.

The Annual General Meeting of the Asian Forum for Polar Sciences (AFoPS) commenced on 18 September 2026 in Kochi, bringing together polar research leaders and representatives from across Asia.

The inaugural session opened with welcome remarks by Dr. Thamban Meloth, Chair, AFoPS & Director, NCPOR, followed by the introduction of delegations and national reports from China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and the UAE.
