77th Republic Day 2026

On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India, the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) honoured the values of democracy, resilience, and the spirit of exploration that guide the nation’s scientific endeavours. The occasion was commemorated with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the reading of the Republic Day message of Dr. Thamban Meloth, Director, NCPOR, by Dr. Manish Tiwari, Scientist F, NCPOR.

India’s 77th Republic Day was proudly celebrated at the Indian Antarctic Station, Maitri. The national flag was unfurled by Shri H. N. Singh, Station Leader, in the presence of Mr. Alexander, Leader of the Novo Station (Russia), and Mr. Aleksei, Novo Runway Commander—symbolizing international cooperation at the southernmost frontiers.
