Dr. Thamban Meloth, Director, NCPOR, delivered the Focal Theme Lecture on “Ocean Science for Blue Economy – Marine Minerals for Sustainable Development” on 1 February 2026 at the 38th Kerala Science Congress, Kochi. The talk highlighted the importance of ocean science and marine mineral resources in supporting sustainable development and strengthening the Blue Economy.
The lecture was held alongside Prof. Biju Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, and was chaired by Prof. P. Balaram, Chair of the Congress and former Director, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.
