Research Area

Antarctic ice core studies (Project - Cryosphere and Climate): 

  • To understand Antarctic climate variability/change during the past millennium. 

Dynamics of Antarctic ice shelf and ice rises (Project - MADICE):

  • To study ice shelf dynamics, ice rise stability, current mass balance and its evolution in the coastal region of the central Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica

Himalayan Cryospheric Observations and Modelling (Project - HiCOM):

  • To study benchmark glaciers and hydrological balance of Indian Himalaya, with focus on the Chandra basin (Western Himalaya).
