National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research, Goa an autonomous research organization of Ministry of Earth Sciences, proposes to launch the seventh expedition in the ice free areas of the Indian sector of Southern Ocean. The SO research programme is mainly focusing on the “Role and response of Southern Ocean to the regional and global climate variability”. Duration of the expedition will be ~45 days. Launching of the expedition shall be in January 2013.
