NCAOR bags CSI-Nihilent E-Governance Award 2014-15 for state of art Marine Geoscientific Database

The National Marine Geo-scientific Data Centre (NMGDC) at NCAOR, established in 2009 to cater to the day to day requirements of voluminous geophysical data management pertaining to the Indian Legal Continental Shelf (LCS) Program has been awarded CSI-Nihilent E-Governance Award for 2015 under Sustenance Category. This data centre houses more than 40,000 line km of multi-parametric data and was made operational in 2009. Ever since the NMGDC has been maintained at NCAOR with routine addition of new geophysical data. This database portal is meant for the purpose of disseminating metadata as well as data within governmental research organizations through NCAOR.

The Computer Society of India’s Special Interest Group (CSI-SIG) on e-Governance has been recognizing the contributions made in the field of e-Governance in the country and awarding them in a series of different categories for past 13 years.
